Bicycling in Virginia Beach is easy! You can bring your own bike or you can rent one while you are here. Either way, bicyclists have access to our award winning 40-block long boardwalk bike path. The bike path runs along the entire length from 2nd street to 40th street. Most hotels have bike racks and they also can be found up and down the bike path area. Be sure to bring a bike lock!
You are lucky when you have a bike in Virginia Beach because most boardwalks don’t allow bicycles at all, and the ones who do usually restrict their use to early morning hours or certain restricted areas. In Virginia Beach you can ride all day long. In fact, I highly recommend it!
If you don’t want to be restricted to riding only on the bike path, you can ride your bike north, south or even inland from the oceanfront resort area and explore. If you want to “just get away”, First Landing State Park has an entrance at 64th Street and you can bike for miles in the park!
