Since 1940, when the first Dairy Queen store opened in Joliet, Illinois, DQ has served quality soft serve ice cream (with our signature curl) to families. Since then, Dairy Queen has grown into one of the largest fast food franchises in the world. But don’t get the wrong idea, from Dilly Bars to Blizzards to Banana Splits, at Dairy Queen we make “Fan Food not Fast Food” and you don’t have to go any farther than the Virginia Beach boardwalk to enjoy one of our Royal Treats.

At our newly renovated 17th Street Grill & Chill, we serve all of our fan favorites including Peanut Buster Parfaits, Dipped Cones, Sundaes, and Orange Julius drinks, but also offer items fresh from the grill. Visit us for lunch or dinner and try a world-famous Super Chili Dog, a GrillBurger, a delicious Hot Bake or our lighter Garden Greens Grilled Chicken Salad. We’ve expanded our canopied outdoor seating area so there is plenty of room. And no visit is complete without checking out what’s happening at the outdoor Dairy Queen Grill & Chill 17th Street Park, featuring live music, plays, movies, and events throughout the summer season.
