VIP Memberships
VIP Memberships can be purchased in 2023 for the full season of concerts for an early-bird price of $175/person until March 15th. After March 15th, the price is $195/person.

VIP Members receive the following benefits:

Reserved Seating for all 6 shows
Valet Parking for all 6 shows
Pre-Concert Receptions, including light hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages
Complimentary popcorn and bottled water during concerts
Two ticket vouchers per member for an additional VSO concert of your choice
Two ticket vouchers per member for an additional Symphonicity concert of your choice
Rain dates as needed on Aug 3, Aug 31, Sept 7
Children 16 and under are free with a paying member

EVENT DESCRIPTION

The Symphony by the Sea Series is back for another year of music by the ocean… and it is better than ever!

Beachfront pops will once again fill the air on six magical evenings by the sea. All concerts in this series are free and open to the public.


Located in 31st Street Park at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, all concerts are a FREE musical offering to residents and visitors. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, as these concerts are well-attended and fill the park.

While all concerts are free, we offer a VIP Series Membership, which includes reserved seating, pre-show receptions, and more for $175/person for all six concerts. Full membership benefits are listed below.

Thursday, July 25 – 7:30pm – Virginia Symphony Orchestra

“Where Wishes Come True: A Night of Enchanted Melodies”

Join us for a magical night under the stars as music from your favorite animated films transports you through mythical lands and stories – Disney, Dreamworks, and more!

Thursday, August 1 – 7:30pm – Virginia Symphony Orchestra

“Symphonic Summer Games”
Morihiko Nakahara, conductor
In recognition of the spectacular athletes gathered in Paris this summer, don’t miss this concert filled with music from the iconic sports events and films that showcase the incredible seemingly super-human abilities of our sports heroes.

Thursday, August 8 – 7:30pm – Symphonicity
“Hearts & Heroes”
Featuring Kathryn Whitbeck, soprano
Music from movies including Batman, Dances with Wolves, Robin Hood, James Bond, and Rocky; as well as love songs and arias.

Thursday, August 15 – 7:30pm – Virginia Symphony Orchestra
Wedding Bells and Pachelbel
Helen Martell, conductor; BJ Griffin, vocalist
Celebrate something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue as the VSO performs beloved music that’s become the soundtrack of so many beautiful wedding ceremonies. Enjoy selections like Trumpet Voluntary and Pachelbel’s Canon, even some Kool & the Gang you might have danced to at the reception, and, of course, Mendelssohn’s Wedding March.

Thursday, August 22 – 7:30pm – Symphonicity
“Classical Comedy”
Featuring Raymond Jones from WHRO
Classical music inspired by comedic ideas, such as, Looney Tunes, Beethoven 5th Symphony “Sportscast” rendition, The Typewriter by Leroy Anderson, The Chicken Dance (for orchestra), Barber of Seville, and others.

Tuesday, September 3 – 7:30pm – Virginia Symphony Orchestra
Once Upon a Symphony
Brandon Eldredge, conductor
Explore the connection between music and storytelling as the VSO fills the night air with some of the most treasured orchestral works inspired by literature, film, fairy tales, and more! Join us to be transported by stories from Swan Lake to Man of La Mancha and adventures from Superman to Indiana Jones!
