1.   Virginia Beach KOA

Virginia Beach KOA is a family-friendly campsite perfect for base camping to explore and enjoy nearby attractions, beaches, coastal cuisines, shopping, fishing, ocean adventures, and live music. The campground has many amenities, including the big Jumping Pillow, Adventure Works Zipline course, and a Pocket Park with games for every age. Summer activities include golf or pedal carts, bike rentals, a giant water slide, two swimming pools, live entertainment, and many family activities. Autumn has the yearly Halloween and Fall festivals and other popular occurrences at the campsite and Boardwalk.

2.   Holiday Trav-L Park

Holiday Trav-L Park is located around 2.4km from the oceanfront. It has 1000 campsites, approximately 300 complete hook-up campervans, 250 tent sites, 34 cabins, and 400 electric and water. The facilities in the park include beach parking, one block away from the beach consisting of 180 vehicle spaces, four swimming pools, six playgrounds, basketball and volleyball courts, and more. You can access this campsite by driving in, walking in, or hiking. 3.   False Cape State Park Campsite

Camping at False Cape State Park is allowed throughout the year. Campsites at this park are in four different areas: False Cape Landing Bay, Barbour Hill Bay, False Cape Landing Ocean, and Barbour Hill Ocean. The False Cape State Park accommodates tents only and primitive camping and provides 12 sites. Young children, people who require emergency medical care access, or inexperienced campers aren’t recommended to camp here. South inlet, Sandy point, Marsh ridge, and Barbour are the trails you can hike. Before camping at False Cape State Park, you must get an information packet and a confirmation letter.

4.   North Bay Shore Campground

North Bay Shore campsite is a nature-focused getaway spot free from all the hustles and bustles of cities and highways. It’s surrounded by the safeguarded Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge with easy Back Bay access. You can enjoy basketball, kayaking, canoeing, pool, live music, fishing, play sets, swings, and more. The North Bay Shore campground provides a free dumping station and boat ramp for registered guests.

5.   First Landing State Park

First Landing State park has twenty miles of trail and 1.5 miles of the sandy Chesapeake Bay Beach frontage. This campground offers many educational and recreational activities and unusual habitats such as lagoons, bald cypress swamps, maritime forests, wildlife, and rare plants. The First Landing State Park has yurts, cabins, electric and water hook-up campgrounds, picnic areas, tent campsites, a camp store, and boat ramps.
