Formed in July, 2012 Anthony and the Conqueroos quickly made a name in the Local and National blues scene. Within days of forming, they won the local nomination, and represented the Natchel Blues Network in the 2013 International Blues Challenge in Memphis. With TONS of support from their quickly built local following, they made it all the way to the Semi Finals. No small feat for a band only months old ~ on their first trip to Memphis! The band released "Live at Tegu" and are working on a full length release for later this year. With Major Festivals booked for the near future and a spot in the 2014 International Blues Challenge representing the Blue Ridge Blues Society, there is no sign of things slowing down anytime soon. The band mixes blues with heavy doses of funk, rock, and jam band influences. If modern blues with a no holds barred drive is your thing, you must check this out!
Featuring Guitar and Vocals by Anthony Rosano, Paul Warren on Bass, Jack Campbell on Harp, and Scott Smith on Drums ~ they blend a unique style of Funk and Rock and Roll heavily steeped in the Blues tradition. Drawing on varied influences they seamlessly blend these elements into a style that is New and Exciting with the nostalgic feel of classic rock.
Live performances flow from straight ahead Delta blues through 60's Bay area jams into Crescent city second line funk. With a band of musicians this diverse you can cover a lot of ground ~ they also write strong songs with instrumental hooks and lyrics that speak with emotion and depth. Constantly evolving, The CONQUEROOS are always pushing each other to new horizons. Instead of the same formula night after night, The CONQUEROOS will often try new arrangements augmented by inviting out guest musicians. Tweaking the recipe just right for a new show every time. One sure thing you can expect at a CONQUEROOS show is you will leave knowing you just got 100% from the band and can't wait for the next experience... and that's what it is all about not just listening to music but feeling it, so it is a true experience.
Check them out at their next show in Virginia Beach.
