We're thinking of heading down 9/21 to 9/28, is it worth it for a family of 4. Does the town shut down for the season prior this? will anything be open?

There is still plenty to do in Virginia Beach dusing that time.
In fact our International Sand Sculpting Championship, Boardwalk Weekend and Neptune’s Arts and Crafts Show events all happen during late September.
These are huge events and you will feel like it is the middle of summer if you are here to witness it!
