I think you should be aloud because you won't be in the way of people walking on the board walk you will be in the bike path where you can go around the bike ahead of you if there is not a bike coming from the opposite way. I think that you should be aloud to skateboard in the bike path but not on the boardwalk itself because if want to skateboard as close as we can to the beach we have to be on Atlantic where people will be walking on the sidewalk where skateboards are trying to ride and then you have to watch out for people so you don't hit them and you have to be cautious of cars coming out of garages and cars driving.

Hi Parker,
We understand your desires. Hower the “unofficial” answer from our locals is that the boardwalk and bikepath are designated areas for walking and biking respectively. While skateboards are a popular form of transportation, they are not extremely maneuverable and tend to be used for flipping and tricks instead of steady transportation… so the city officials and local businesses frown upon their use.
Mucking up the transportation by including and allowing skateboards and scooters and and other non-mainstreem transportation is ultimately goig to be risking injury or bad experiences for the regular tourists and pedestrians on foot and is simply not in the best interest of Virginia Beach.
So that is the “unofficial” answer.
