What is open in November?
A:
Hi Ashley,
That is a great question as things definitely change a little once the summer season comes to an end, and we head into the fall and winter. One thing to note is that Virginia Beach really doesn’t have any “boardwalk shops”. Our boardwalk isn’t like other east coast boardwalks you might be thinking of. Our boardwalk is not lined with shops. Most of our shops are 1 block inland on Atlantic avenue.
Whether a shop stays open during the winter and off-season months varies depending on whether a store is seasonal or year-round. Most shops stay open year round so that they can accommodate the locals that live here but a few will shut down for at least a few weeks when business is slow and it relies solely on tourism. Those are very few though.
If you have any specific shops that you are thinking about, please let us know. But for the most part, you are safe to come to Virginia Beach and still be able to have access to all of the shops year round. November in Virginia Beach is still usually warm (above 65 degrees) so most of the normal shops are still open and thriving.
NOTE: There are always inland shopping areas and districts all throughout the city of Virginia Beach such as La Promenade Distintive Shoppes or Landstown Commons.
Have a great day at the beach!
