You can swim in the Atlantic Ocean in Virginia Beach at any time.  However, please understand that there are no lifeguards on duty after hours.

PLEASE NOTE: You are not allowed to loiter or sleep on the beach over night as there are many maintenance, event and trash vehicles that use the beach at night and they don’t want to have any accidents with visitors who might be laying on the beach in the dark.  You will be asked to move along by security.
