Dogs and Other Pets in Virginia Beach

All pet related codes and regulations are governed by Virginia Beach City Code 6-5.

It states in the code that “…the provisions of this section shall not be applicable to a guide dog, hearing dog or service dog trained to accompany a person with a disability while being accompanied by such person, or to any dog or horse in the custody or control of a law enforcement officer while such officer is in the performance of his duties.“
